SUPREME SAGE
- Aging Together’s Superhero


Meet Supreme Sage, or “Sage” as we lovingly call her. She is our new Superhero, conceptualized by Marinda Risk on our staff in response to the Culpeper County Library’s comic con event (Culpeper Con), and she is forever combatting ageism!

Sage has at least 8 decades on her, but in reality she is ageless, because what does a number matter? Her superpowers emit as powerful forcefields from the many lines on her face and her long gray hair.

Sage is always going on adventures to help people around her - whether it involves parachuting in to the rescue, traveling the world to thwart villains, or using her power crystals to travel back through eras she lived through to make a better future. She also uses her wisdom and knowledge of the past to accurately predict coming times, helping people make good decisions in the present. There is no one more resilient and wise, and wisdom is one of the strongest superpowers out there. 

She keeps up in the gym (you won’t see her - she likes to remain incognito) and her strong arm is ready to whip ageism and stereotypes into submission. Her collection of capes pass on goodwill to those who need it, and bring forces of fight and advocacy to help those who so bravely counteract challenges of growing a little older. And yet, she reminds us that most older people are doing very well, thank you very much. She’s a force for anyone who is aging (isn’t that all of us?), but don’t test her with negative presumptions and “too-old-to-do-it” commentary - she doesn’t handle that well - beware!​
