DEMENTIA EDUCATION CONFERENCEFor over a decade the Dementia Education Conference has offered support and education to family and professional caregivers for those living with dementia in our region. Join Aging Together, the Piedmont Dementia Education Committee (PDEC), and regional partners for a day of learning, sharing, and interaction that supports your path as a caregiver, and leave with resources and relevant, current information that enables you on your journey. Even if you aren't a caregiver and wish to learn more about dementia, this conference is for you.
This year's theme: LET'S TALK: Dementia Research, Care Strategies & More |
SPEAKERS WITH EXPERT INSIGHTWe're all looking for answers. The Annual Dementia Education conference brings speakers from all over with expertise in research, healthcare, activities, and more.
This year, after seeking response from constituents, the conference will include a focus on Alzheimer's and dementia research. Keynote speaker, Dr. George Bloom, PhD, who leads Alzheimer's research at UVA will discuss "The Quest to Conquer Alzheimer’s Disease", Loretta Veney returns with "Building Joyful Caregiver Experiences using Humility, Hope and Humor". And other topics include strategies for caregiving, and interactive "deep dive talks" where you can join in the discussion on subjects that interest you the most. |
